Do you ever type the wrong words when writing?

When you are writing something, do you ever think of one word but type something different? I do that sometimes. Maybe more often than I should.
Just the other day, I was typing a reply on mylot and instead of writing the word "pennies," which is what I wanted to use, I ended up writing "p***s".
I wonder why that happened and what was on my mind when I wrote it?
Good thing I double check what I write before and after posting. And good thing we can edit what we post here after we post it.
By the way, can we actually write out the word "p***s" or is that against the rules?

I think it would come up with 'error bad word' in red below the comment and you'd have to correct it before you could move on. My problem is putting 'can' instead of 'can't' or 'do' instead of 'don't' which changes the meaning completely.

I've done that myself but caught myself in time. But good thing we can edit here. It would sucks if editing was not an option and I wrote can instead of can't, etc.

@lovebuglena Not having an edit button would be terrible. I'm forever using it.

@JudyEv I use it many times, especially when I am posting a discussion.

I misspell some words, partly because English is not my native language. I edit as much as I can.

I wasn't referring to misspelling words but rather writing a different word than the one you were thinking about. Like for example, you are thinking the word cheese but you write the word chase instead. In this case, you didn't really misspell the word but rather wrote the wrong word.

I have a bad habit of missing words in a sentence when I write a fan fiction of Wordgirl or any of the D C and Marvel heroes which I have to proof read before it is published just for fun.

I wonder what's worse, accidentally omitting words or writing wrong words instead of those intended?

@Deepizzaguy Perhaps. But then again, if you write the wrong word you can change the meaning of a sentence. If you omit a word that won't happen. The sentence may be confusing though.

I make a mess of things all the time and have to make corrections.

Well, you are human after all. Though it can be annoying when it happens often.

I hate when autocorrect changes our words.

I responded to a writing, meant one thing and when I read it, the wording was wrong! I would actually have insulted them, if it had been sent that way

Good thing you caught the mistake before sending.

@lovebuglena Yes, I hurt one woman's feeling, by a simple typing error:( Of course I explained this to her and did apologize, also.

I am an English learner. I hardly write any wrong word or miss any word when I write a sentence, becuase I will check it after finishing writing. Usually I care more about how to express a sentence.

I think everyone does. Even those best-selling authors with million of copies in print.
