Cold morning, warmish afternoon with plenty of sunshine--that's the best way to describe today's weather forecast. Once again, I had no problem walking to the gym and back home on the sidewalks, the same as yesterday. Although Paige and I had a small delay to start my lessons, since I arrived there five minutes early, we've started right on time.
And the stroke of the day was the backstroke. First I did my usual warmup of doing one lap of the backstroke and one lap with the elementary backstroke.
Then I did two laps of the backstroke to kick things off. Then Paige mentioned to me last week, that she wanted to build on my endurance and my speed with the backstroke. Two weeks ago, I did 6 laps of untimed backstrokes. Then we've started it with the timer on the wall. I've done a new total of 8 laps being timed, back and forth, with a short break before the next one lap, etc.
I'm still not ready for the Olympics, not even at my age, to do any kind of competition like that. It's exhausting.
Lastly, I've done two laps of the elementary backstroke to end my lesson. Though Paige wanted me to do a total of 4 non-stop, I ran out of steam, and we ran out of time anyway. Maybe Thursday, though it'll be rainy at 50%, I'll go and bag my phone, or just leave it at home.
Tomorrow morning is still a go for water aerobics, so I hope to try to do one lap of the breast stroke. And if Friday morning is a go, I'll do one lap of the freestyle.
Paige did inform me last week, that starting in the spring, we might have to change our schedule, since she would be teaching little league soccer. And that might be around the same time my annual gym membership will expire too. I would love to learn the butterfly next month if given the chance. (No word from Rachel last week via text on my recent lesson's update.)
