Doctors appointments and some bad news

I’ll go with the bad news first so you don’t think I got bad news at the doctors.
I logged on Facebook this morning and saw that my late husbands cousin was murdered. He was living down in the Southern US last I knew and had just gotten out of jail recently for the millionth time. In death he has left behind 3 young kids none of which he has seen in over a year and one he has never met. I don’t know all the details but they know who shot him and are looking for him.
Now on to the doctors appointments.
My daughter had an appointment yesterday with the dermatologist. He said her acne is severe and told her to stop using the Doxycycline once a day and to start taking Minocycline twice a day. He said for her to also use the bezoyl peroxide gel on the pimples and or differin. He said only using one antibiotic alone can cause antibiotic resistance so it’s important to use something else with it which seems really odd to me especially if she is only using the gel on pimples only and not her whole face.
I went to the doctor yesterday for my monthly appointment for medicine refills. I told him about the oral surgeon wanting a clearance from the doctor to have my wisdom teeth out due to the Von Willibrands. He sent me to the lab to have blood drawn and a clotting test. The clotting test I had done when I was a kid and the results were fine then do. We will see about what the vial is blood they took.

Good luck with getting rid of those wisdom teeth, I was in pain and they are gone. I hope your daughter gets her skin fixed. Sounds like she has a good doctor. So sorry those children are father less, but I imagine (assume) he wasn’t a great dad...

No he wasn't but people like to put people on a pedestal after they die so they are saying what a good guy he was etc. That drives me nuts! My teeth aren't causing my pain but since I only have 3 instead of 4 it makes my bite off and causing TMJ.

I had acne and took those pills. They didn't work. I hope everything works out for your daughters acne. I just let them be and they eventually went away. I am sorry to hear about your late husbands cousin being murdered.

@shaggin I hate acne! But I hope something works. My determotogist recommended facials and it was covered under my insurance then so I’d do that, it helped a little bit.
I do have acne here and there still. My sister never had acne, so jelly!

People with a bleeding problem can bleed a lot I guess when their teeth are removed so I can see why the oral surgeon wants to have a clearance from a doctor saying it's okay and what form of the blood disorder I have. But it still is a big hassle. I still have pimples in my 30s and nothing worked on it as a teen but I'm hopeful her skin will clear up better then mine did.

I feel sorry for those kids. Is there no one to care for them?
Is getting a clotting test done routine concerning teeth?

I am sorry for your husband's cousin. What was the reason why was he killed?
Acne are bad . I remember I had lots of acne problem when I was teen. I went to lots of doctors but if no use. Benzoyl peroxide is good for acne. She should use it.

She had a benzoyl peroxide wash that we tried and it didn't do anything for either of us. She is using the benzoyl peroxide ointment now on the large pimples. What I read on the news things about the murderer they are looking for is that there was an argument. Who knows what it was about though.

I feel sad for those kids specially the one who will never get to know his real Dad. As for your daughter I hope the doctors doesn't screw it up. I think I remember having a pimple problem growing up.

It's terrible your late husband's cousin was murdered! The children are probably with their mother, hopefully. My daughter went to a dermatologist years back and now, her skin is beautiful. I had one wisdom tooth taken out, also. You will do just fine:)

Yes the three children all live with their mother. That is wonderful about your daughters skin. I am hopeful my daughters will clear up soon too. It's been terrible for years like mine was at her age. I still have pimples at 34 as none of the medicines ever worked for me.

Extremely important to have those blood tests.
I have a blood disorder and must take Warfarin for life. Pain in the neck as I constantly need blood tests to see if it is the right consistency.
Had quite a few surgeries and have to switch to Heparin then instead.
Good luck with your appointment.

Is the bleeding problem you have that your blood is too thick? My dad has 5 clotting disorders but my mother the Von Willibrands.

Sorry to hear about your late husband's cousin, that is awful. I worry that will happen to my brother one day, as he is also in and out of jail and runs with a rough crowd. It is a shame that happened, though.
