I shall no longer be on time anywhere

Although these days I hardly fulfil any social obligations if I ever I do I find myself reaching before anyone else. I like to be punctual.
The other day I was invited to give a talk at a centre. When I reached there there was no one there. Apparently I was ten minutes before time and this on account of our clock that did not show the correct time.
I have a lunch appointment today and I have decided to be there atleast 10 minutes late. Being punctual sometimes is quite embarrassing
In other words being punctual is bad manners

I would not want anyone to make grand appearances at my parties. I just do not wait for them

@DianneN The question does not arise as one has to be invited first

That's why I stopped being punctual. Now I'm usually the last to arrive. But I tell my friends, "Queens are never late. Everybody else just comes early."

But my functions are always held on time and so you will miss out the most part of the programme as we do not wait for late comers

I would be most comfortable if I settled down in Switzerland. I am punctual and so going for any function here does not make me happy one bit. There is so much disorganisation here when it comes to punctuality. The so called celebrities prefer to make a grand appearance by coming very very late

@allknowing I feel well here in Switzerland, I always arrive 5 to 10 minute earlier and I wait the exact time to get inside. In Italy you never know when a meeting really begins, it's a pain.

The moral of the story. Never go for functions where you are the first one to appear (lol)

Being late for something I think is the height of bad manners. It is far better to be early and shame those who are tardy! I usually tell my family we are leaving at least half an hour to an hour before I really want to leave because they never ever are ready on time!

We also believe in punctuality and in fact when we have functions we start the function on time even if we have just a handful of guests.
