Pole dancing for the over 70s?

And let me make it clear at the outset that I'm talking about watching rather than performing!
Managers at a care home for the elderly in Christchurch, Dorset, wanted to offer something a bit different for their entertainment, and pole dancing was suggested by the residents.
So that is what the management arranged. Six female dancers in their 20s and 30s gave what they described as a "sporty gymnastic performance" at the home, dressed in leotards, hot pants and crop tops. The music included numbers by Abba and from "Singing in the Rain".
No stripping or nudity was involved.
The show was thoroughly enjoyed by the residents who have asked the dancers to return at some future date.
However, a local councillor got to hear about it and condemned the venture as being wholly inappropriate, despite no complaints having been received from anyone.
What do you think? Do you think that senior citizens should only be entertained by people who keep both feet on the floor, or do you reckon - as I do - that anything that does not offend decency but is a bit "racy" is perfectly OK?

They are adults, can't they decide for themselves what they want to watch?
Ive been to a few aerobic acts. The type described seems no different than shows I went to as a kid or adult. The only difference is its a pole and not a tight rope, or those long cloth swing things, etc.

The problem is that people in care homes don't have a free hand in terms of what they get re entertainment.

@indexer I thought they had a choice in what activities they chose to do? so people are being forced to sit and watch this against their wishes? Then by all means, no its not right and not acceptable.
if someone wants to chose to go see it, then thats up to them!

I see nothing wrong with this especially if the senior citizens enjoyed it so much. I mean they should not have to be constantly reminded of their age and if they like doing things that make them feel so much younger then why not. Someone should organize some oldies but goodies dances for them with young females to dance with elderly gentlemen and young men to dance with elderly women.

You could say ages ago it was done when there were nice dance halls and special dancers who invited people to dance. Things like that could remind these folks of the good old days and make them feel younger and sprier again @indexer
