Just Sitting Here Waiting...

Got up this morning tired and grumpy. Now I am just waiting for my second cup of coffee to kick in and start working. My first coffee didn't do a thing for me other than taste good.
I seem to be doing a lot of waiting lately. Actually the most important thing I am waiting for is to hear from a no kill animal shelter.
Last Thursday we went to a shelter we had not been to before and wouldn't you know it, we fell in love with a little dashound mix dog about 4 and 1/2 years old.
This poor puppy had been abused and dropped off somewhere to fend for himself. He shakes a bit when you first meet him until he realizes you won't hurt him.
Anyway, we filled out the adoption paper and have been waiting for a home inspection. We will probably hear in the next day or so when they will be here to make sure we will be suitable pet parents.
I can't wait to get this little guy here with us so we can give him the love and security he deserves.

@rebelann we expect it to take him a while to get use to and trust us. The first abused dog we adopted twenty some years ago took a couple of months to trust us completely and about 6 months before he was comfortable with other people.

I could not wake up either after my 1st cup of coffee so I had to have a 2nd cup as well. I am more awake now and showered and dressed for the day which helped also. Hope you here from the adoption agency soon, it's sad seeing all these pets abused and abandoned.

@HazySue Well hopefully it's not too long of a process and you can adopt one soon. I only have 2 cups of coffee I don't let myself have 3 but some days i just might if i don't get any sleep.

It took me three cups of coffee to finally wake up. I am still waiting for that phone call. We get our animals at these shelters and it breaks my heart to see them siting there scared and shaking. I would love to take all of them home. This is the first time I have gone to this particular shelter so we are going through all the red tape with them.

@Blondie2222 I let myself have the third on those days when I can seem to pry my eyes open. He is now with us. It took us a week and some persistence but we have him now.

@Courtlynn I ended up calling them several times and now we have him with us. I will post photo and write about him soon.

Good luck with your new addition to your family. Pitiful little thing will find a wonderful home with you and your family. I too am waiting a call from legal aide society and I get impatient too. It's hard waiting for an expected call. Pets are so wonderful to have around the home!
