People today want to appear casual in even important events. I think that over here it has become something of a trend amongst the youths. When they put on a jeans, they would let it down at the bottom so that you can see their pants. They call it swag. If you want to be well dressed, with ties and long sleeves, they tend to laugh at you. It is all t-shirts, jeans and pants. It disturbs me. I wonder why they should choose such a lifestyle. I grew up believing in being well dressed, even for weekend occasions. Is it happening also in your area?

I prefer men to dress appropriately. There is a time and place for everything.

Some people disregard that truism and dare anyone to tell them they are wrong. Values have taken a nose dive recently especially in the area of dressing. They don't care anymore if anyone notices how sloppy they are or not.

@mydanods It bothers me. I dress to please myself and believe one behaves appropriately when dressed nicely.

@DianneN In Nigeria we have an expression: dress the way you want to be addressed. It means that the way you dress is the way people will behave towards you. Many youths don't seem to remember that adage.

Some people just don't care. But as for me, I tend to get sloppy too when it comes to wearing fomal or proper attire. In fact, I haven't worn something like that in a very long time. or maybe some people just didn't have something to wear.

I understand. But it pays to care about what other people think. That shows you love them and want the best for them.
