Last week I got the phone call that confirmed my thoughts on my youngest. My little 3 year old has a wheat allergy now. We did his second scratch test and it had popped on wheat and to see how bad we did a blood test. His blood came back saying very high to the point he can’t eat any wheat. This doesn’t mean he won’t every be able to eat wheat again but it’s a possibility since he is now 3. He is going 100% gluten free because wheat is pretty much in everything. There is still a chance he also has celiac which is an autoimmune discorder which means he would never be able to eat glutens and wheats again because it attacks your digestive system.
We are almost to day 7 of this change.

There is many but he has a nut allergy so a lot of gluten free food has nuts in them. The gluten aisle don’t have tones of options but I can find always around them busy still have to ready everything because tons of things has wheat in it so every meals he eats plus snakes. Food coloring has wheat in it as well.

He can’t eat rice all of the time. They do make rice noodles and price flour but I still have to check to make sure it’s glten free and nut free since my son has 5 of the most common food allergies.
Allergies change with age and environment so one year you can be allergic to something and then the next not. So you have to be checked one every few years.

Yes but many are actually made with nuts so his are a lot less then others. There some people that are all three wheat, nuts and dairy free.

I am sorry to hear it. But nowadays there are many gluten free recipes and foods and you can make easily the right food for your son.

Yes and no! A lot of other ways are done with nuts which is is allergic to so we have less options and we do have more stuff to pick from then about 10 or more years ago but still tones of things with wheat in it some you have to look high and low to find the right thing need to make something to eat. Taco seasoning I almost had to go and buy all the seasoning but finally found the pack I was looking for.
