I have decided to purchase new laptop, but due to Virus problem with Windows, my decision is to purchase Linux OS laptop. There are number of Laptops available to buy via Amazon online store. But before I decide, I would like to discuss the purchase with experienced users.

Linux is a free operating system. Once you buy the laptop you can download any kind of Linux version you like and install it on your Laptop. My husband uses Linux from years and he is very happy with this operating system.

@yugocean If there is Windows 10 installed, in some cases you cannot install Linux, but it is impossible that you cannot download Linux.

I’ve used Linux only once and that was more than ten years ago then I switched to windows and then I switch to mac. Been with mac for 6 years and I don’t think I’ll ever go back to windows or Linux.

@yugocean From the time I switched to Mac I never had to deal with any virus at all and I don't even have to bother downloading an antivirus. Mac has its own built in security and antivirus. So every time there's an update, I just do that and it doesn't take a lot of time to do so. It's just like updating an iPhone.

@toniganzon You are using Apple's McBook or something else? Which device you are using?

Mac is only for Apple, and it costs more. But yeah people are satisfied with Mac. How it deals with virus and other malicious software?

I'm not familiar with Linux, but, as far as I know, they're cheaper than other OS's, but if you're focusing on viruses, why not apple?

Apple costs more, while as Linux experts says, Linux runs on RAM, so no Virus, Malware etc will run if we just shutdown/restart.

@yugocean Yup, but in Linux, only a few programs you can use, unless you'll install an app to make it windows, even if the OS is Linux
