DST was originally created so farmers would have an extra hour to work their fields @amadeo . Of course with all the modern equipment today, it is unnecessary . Arizona and Hawaii don't participate in DST though.

@JolietJake ooohhh.. i thought it saves electricity coz you have to turn off the electricity for an hour right? maybe they need to extend the time to cover up the one hour turn off of electricity thou?..

I believe one of the reasons it was originally started was to give farmers more daylight hours to get all their chores done during the summer months

I have seen lots of memes and informative articles about it as well. Many people say to not even bother with your car clock, just wait six months. My computers and digital devices change themselves. I think they pick up a signal somehow.
