Moped muggers on the rise!

There is a relatively new type of crime wave sweeping London in the last few years where young guys use mopeds to whip around the city and rob people of their mobile phones or attack shops and businesses and steal jewellery and valuables that way – and they steal the mopeds to do the robbing! The men who do it are almost exclusively young black guys these days as the crime reaches epic proportions (most of London’s poorer youth is black or Asian now) and the victims are mostly white or Asian pedestrians on their phones, and in the stolen bike cases, mostly Muslim men involved in the so-called gig economy, delivering fast food on the bikes around the city and attacked on those bikes, sometimes with acid. There were 58,000 moped rider thefts in London last year and that was just the reported crimes. 1500 mopeds were stolen.
The police, who are still mostly white, can’t cope with the volume and as the young men are black, and in many cases underage, they can’t chase them through the streets in case the guys fall off the bikes and get killed. Liberal groups jump on that sort of thing and so the police just get their powers sapped from them to stop crime. Those sorts of deaths cause riots in London
Anyhow, we had this documentary on this type of crime on national TV and all the stereotypes of who is doing this crime and who are the targets, was confirmed. Even the most liberal tree huger had steam coming out of their ears watching this. I have been mugged three or four times on my travels around the world in my and it’s not a nice experience. I feel for all those people being robbed in London. Our mobile phones today hold our lives in them. The muggers on the TV documentary almost enjoyed the hurt they were causing and clearly not just about the money. This was about the power they felt denied in life because they are black. It was an hour’s television that made a lot of people angry. I don’t know if you guys have the same type of crimes in your cities but just keep those phones safe guys.
