I have spent years dyeing Easter eggs first for my children, then my grandchildren. This will be my first year of not dyeing eggs since I can't remember when. I will have no little ones around to look around our house and yard for those colorful eggs. I have fixed up baskets and sent them off to all the little ones in the family. Never fear, I will be boiling eggs this Easter, just not dyeing them. We are going to my brother-in-law and sister-in-laws house for Easter dinner and one of the thing I will be bringing is deviled eggs. What will you all be doing for Easter?

I love coloring Easter eggs with my kids, but I think they're a little to old for that now! They're both teenagers! haha This year, I won't even be home for Easter, as my son and I will be on our annual wilderness backpacking trip!

@HazySue Yeah, same here. I loved coloring Easter eggs with my kids. I also loved hiding them and watching them run all over the yard trying to find the. Good times!

I plan to make pickled eggs using beet juice then turn them into deviled eggs. That among other things I will be taking to Easter dinner. I have dyed eggs with my own children in many years. I think we did it one time at my house. I hate doing it so sometimes while my sister was doing it with her kids my daughter and I would go over so she could do it too.

@HazySue I hated them. I ate two and left the entire thing there with my parents so they could eat them instead of me throwing them away!

I'm not sure yet if I'm going to make hard boiled eggs or dying them. I don't have any dye yet. Our church is having an Easter egg hunt after church. I know last Sunday I made some eggs for the kids and brought them to church. I'm sure they were a hit.

Easter eggs are always a hit with the kids. It's more fun to hunt them when it is a group of kids.

I bought 2 dozen eggs today. One of the dozen will be used to dye for Easter. My husband and Little Miss will enjoy doing that. I have to work this weekend, so we will be having our Easter dinner when I get home. I'll put the ham in a crockpot before I head out the door. The vegetables will be cooked later. Dessert will be simple, perhaps a cake. Last year we went to an Easter egg hunt at the nursing home where my mother resides. I was hoping they would have it again this year, but I haven't heard anything to say they would.

I know you will have a nice Easter with the Little Miss. Hopefully they will do something for the people there at the nursing home. It would be a shame if they didn't.

Since Easter is not our festival here, so we don't do something special for it. I think it is still important to dye eggs with children so that they will understand Easter and enjoy it much more.

I dyed eggs with my girls for Easter until they were at the point where they didn't want to do so anymore. We put more emphasis on going to church.

For the moment, my son has been invited to two birthday parties. So, I'll be taking him to them, most likely. Otherwise, for the moment, those are the only plans we have.

@HazySue Maybe there will be. I don't know. Either way, we might still try and get them some chocolate eggs.

My daughter buys chocolate eggs for the kids and hides them in the garden. Until last Easter, my 27 year old granddaughter came to fetch HER eggs. JEEEZZZZ!!! I dyed once eggs with little Sofía. She dyed her dress and the sofa. Not anymore.

For a while I used to use plastic eggs and fill them with candy and little toys. No fuss, no muss.

I bought a little Easter bunny candy from the bulk section. If its not too cold out, hubby and I go outside and read from the Wind in the Willows together on Easter morning. Its our new year; the coming of renewal and warmth. The chapter that we read is called Piper at the Gates of Dawn. Its about a small boy otter going missing, the rat and mole row off down the river to look for him. They find the little guy sleeping at the feet of the god Pan. Pan watches over the little ones, the animals that need him. Its a beautiful way to start the season.

My mom and I love coloring eyes, but we only do it when we have little ones too. Which we wont be having any around this year. We never hide those ones though. We just used expired eggs to boil and dye. then they'd go in the trash. or my mom would use good eggs, and we'd boil and dye them, then she'd make egg salad with them. No Easter plans.

Not a thing that I know of. It has more to do with the Easter Bunny and the children's part of the holiday.

We've never dyed eggs. My mother used to get us kids to do it years ago, but I never did it with our son at all. Our Easter Sunday will be low-key and last minute this year because our son is moving this weekend, and a lot depends on how quickly they get settled in. My husband and I have Friday, Saturday, Sunday and I have Monday off as well. So lots of time to relax.

I have never dyed eggs, we had no "eggs hunting" when I was a kid. I think this year we will be alone for Easter, only my hubby and I. A very nice quiet Easter lunch at home.
