Well howdy again, I actually have something to say. First though, did you know that with some breed lines of the German Shepherd the ear cartilage is very thin and weak so that if someone plays with their ears while they are babies they can prevent those ears from standing erect? Yeah, that's what happened to Princess in the above photo. She's still beautiful though. Her ears stood erect for all of 1 week. Now I have to ask if I'm the only one getting really sick and tired of the expensive pet foods being recalled all the time? I've never had enough money to actually buy any of it and now I'm glad about that. You don't buy this stuff, do you?
A single lot of Blue Ridge Beef BRB Complete frozen dog food is being recalled because of the potential for contamination with salmonella and listeria.

There are some who have weak cartilage and if you play with their ears as people tend to do it can wear down that cartilage so it won't hold the ear erect. I know I was told when mom had her GSD not to play with her ears, she was such a cute little puppy.

I am horrified by all the expensive pet food that keeps getting recalled. You would think they would be more careful!

You are right @DeborahDiane I think it's because they are selling raw diets which is healthier for our pets but it's best the petparent made the raw diet themselves from meat they know is fresh.

Exactly. I never could afford those expensive ones so at least I have little to worry about.

@rebelann - That is one way to look at it. It seems as if the problems have all been with the fancy pet foods. Weird!

Personally I think they need to get better standards when making dog foods to keep them from being recalled

I agree. The scary part is that they used meats left after making packed meats for human consumption.

That's terrible about those ears. My Sally Miss eats Merricks buffalo and sweet potato kibble. Pricy is the only way to put it. She has had fewer epileptic episodes since I put her on the food. Leah eats Diamond natural lamb and rice. That costs less and she is a healthy horse.

I have all mine on Blue Wilderness grain free, it's not cheap but they also don't eat as much of it as the would if I fed them something like Purina.

Our pedigree corgi had one floppy ear but she was only a pet so it didn't matter.

She is so beautiful. As far as the recalls for the dog food, I wish they would be more careful, we are feeding this food to our loved ones.

She really is a beauty both inside and out, I love this pup almost as much as I love Ally. Boy, you really hit that one on the head, the meat they use for this type of dog food comes from the same meats that they package to be sold in supermarkets for humans, that's what's really scary to me.

@rebelann It is scary. How sad that there is little care taken to ensure everyone's safety.

I did not know that at all about German Shepherds. That's interesting and I'm sure if I had a puppy I wouldn't be able to resist touching her ears unless it caused pain. I think her floppy ears in the photo look cute. My puppy has floppy ears like that which is normal for the Jack Russells.

Until mom got her GSD I didn't know that either. I've only had one dog with erect ears, I lost him in 2015.
