I intended to fill the car on my way home from Bible study last night, but had gone past the petrol station before I remembered. Never mind, I thought, I'll fill up in the morning. Bad decision! This morning I found that overnight the price had jumped from $1.27 per litre to $1.36 per litre. Shoulda realized that Easter holiday is coming up, and the price always soars. Of course, the petrol companies will say that "it's just part of the normal price cycle." Yeah, right ...! How are petrol (gas) prices where you are? Do they go up before holiday times?

The same is true here, over a long distance you can find huge differences. Normally it is much dearer in the country, but we are fortunate that even though we are in a country area we still get city prices.

Prices here go up before weekends, holidays, anything else that might have motorists out and about on the roads.

@lynnief It's all a lot of hogwash. I don't believe that they can't keep their prices lower than they do.

@JudyEv It's interesting to compare the price of crude oil over the last few years with the price of petrol. By rights we should be paying less than $1 per litre.

Same over here. But it's always "part of the normal price cycle." Interesting how the "normal price cycle" is always at its highest point at holiday times.

That's cheap! A litre is approx quarter of a gallon, so that makes our current price around $5.40 per gallon.
