Question: “What's the biggest WASTER at your WORK?”

Personally speaking, the biggest waster in my previous jobs is gossip. In every working place, gossipers are always there. I can’t bear hearing or even talking with them. My personal principle is, “Work is work.” I tend to work and do my tasks than dealing with other issues or concerns. If I entertain these things, then I am wasting my time over nothing.

gossiping or rumor-mongering i believe is always there in any jobs' workplaces. it is nice to listen to some, as long as i don't add or get affected with it. gossips that i hear in the ward are the tardiness of some nurses, to the point that they are deducted from their salaries

@Shavkat some gossips are of course untrue. but when they gossip something about truth, then it is best to keep it mum.

@ridingbet I hope people can keep it. They do love doing it. That's the reason why I stay away from them.

I agree with you regarding those gossips. It greatly affects other people with all the false rumours and making the effort to destroy your reputation. Another is crab mentality, mostly done by the supervisor and other co-workers. When they see others striving, they make sure they drag the person down. Crab mentality and gossips are intertwined.

For example, if I clean windows and 15 minutes later I am in that same area, I see someone messed them up all over again. If I feel obligated to clean them once more, that is a waste of my time. I am not an attendant. I clean something, and I move on. If someone makes it dirty again, it looks to my superiors as if I did not clean.
