4 am Surprise

A couple of years ago I had to have someone get up on the metal roof of my mobile home to spray around the screws because water was leaking down and through the windows, soaking the window sills, walls, etc. Well, everything was fine.....until 'early' this morning. We've had a deluged of rain. I got up at 4:20 for my usual wee-wee time and felt the need to take a hit off my inhaler, so I'm standing in the kitchen and suddenly hear "splish, splish, splish." I go over to the extremely large window and not only is the window sill full of water, but the bench with cushion on it, is absolutely soaked. I got a 12 ounce glass to put under 'the leak' and proceeded to clean up the mess and turn on the oscillator fan to dry things out. Needless to say, I had to empty the glass several times. At 10:40 when the rain temporarily stopped, I got the 20-foot ladder and climbed up with a product called Flex Seal and proceeded to spray the screws that I could reach above that window. The next deluge is suppose to hit at 2:45, so we'll see if what I did does any good. Fingers crossed, toes crossed, eyes crossed, etc. I can't climb up on the roof to get to the other screws (which I've tried before and almost fell off) and at the moment can't afford to have someone come out and redo the job. Geez, I'm tired of being picked on.

Shocks. The leaking water sound caught you in surprise. But seriously, hoping everything is okay with you and your mobile home. Take care, Nanette.

Thank heavens it did @mlgen1037 ; otherwise, I would have gone back to bed not realizing it and woke up at 7 or 8 to a heck of a lot worse. Believe it or not, it's already started pouring again (2 hours earlier than expected). That means the sealant only had 1 1/2 to hopefully dry. I'm watching it now and so far so good.

I know right @scarlet_woman ? You would think so. What's even more stupid is that I had an agency come out to help with windows, doors, etc., but guess what? They didn't do squat except to replace my refrigerator and wrap my hot water heater. When I told them about the roof, it was like too bad, so sad. Geez!!!

@scarlet_woman And one thing about the frig is that a lot of people don't realize how much kilowatts those use if they're not working right. I could tell immediately on my next electric bill the difference with the new frig.

do the metal roof have some sort of guarantee?

This would be so annoying. I hope you've managed to fix all the leaks. Sometimes the leak can be very hard to find as it might be high on the roof but trickles down till it finds an outlet.

When it rains it pours - so the saying goes. It is times like these when it is handy to have a handyman around.

Yeah no kidding on both counts @Kandae11 . I sure can't afford to take a 20+ foot fall.

I've used the flex seal to fix a leaking pipe. Hope it works out for you!

That's definitely not good. That's not what you want to wake up to. Hopefully, you can get it all fixed.
