Have you ever been so involved in a book that you feel as though you could walk right into it? Have you been so involved in the drama that you feel you could step in and join the character? The feeling of knowing a character or set or characters personally is the aim or goal of many writers. For some of us it is not enough for us to be able to understand, believe in, and feel the emotions of our characters, we want the reader to feel the same way. We want to draw a person into the story and have them feel the pain, the happiness, the agony of the characters involvement. We want them to love them, hate them, care what they are doing and how they are feeling. We want them totally involved. As a writer this is what I want for my readers. What do you want from a book when you are reading it?

@HazySue Susan, I have read books that I did not want to put them down or finish but did want to know what happens in the end. That is important that the book catches my eye and is full of lots of action and I also like romance too.

I find the flow of the words, the characters, and their actions are very important to me.

Sometimes, it can be easy to just be really into a book. Especially if it's a good one that we enjoy. I love it.

There are a lot of good books out there. I am lucky enough to find them every now and then.

Same. That connection with characters. Good plot. A little dash of romance.

whenever I like a book, I always see myself being one with the character. That's the time when I couldn't let go of the book and just have to finish it.

Exactly. When you become one with the character then you have found a very good book.

When I read a book, I want to imagine or become the main character and the villain at the same time .. I want the book to completely take over both sides of my brain ..lol ..

That is what I want from a reader. I think that is an ultimate goal for a writer, at least this one.

I like to be involved and entertained. We had one series of books we were reading where we would go to bed worrying about the characters and hoping they'd be okay.

find myself doing that every now and then. If I am really into a book I will sometimes dream about helping them out of their situation.

A good book that draws you in will transport you to it's time and place. It's often a very interesting trip.
