Scheduling Days Off

I am retired now and receiving SS but I do recall when I was working at my last job. We got a new scheduling system. We all had to go in and put in our three mosted wanted hours. It was very complicated and you had to do it just this certain way or it through it out, the manager would come over and have you do it again. About the time I figured it out I got the hours I wanted (8:30a. -4p. Monday thru Friday) and so I didn't have to do it again. I remember when I worked at my first real job. The telephone company. Scheduling was all done manually. We had a scheduling clerk and she was usually very hard to get in contact with. So if you wanted time off you had to work at it. They had a great system though. Every four weeks you could depend on a four day week-end so it was very nice. You could look forward to the longer weekend and make family plans accordingly.

We have set days-off which we personally wanted. Once the schedule has been set, your days-off re locked on that schedule.

Bummer. Everyone needs certain days off from time to time.
