Hello everyone. I am one proud mom here. Last week, we learn that our son passed his 2nd grade and will move to the 3rd grade next school year. Just yesterday, another good news came, my daughter who is in 5th grade will be receiving high honors distinction from their school. She has been a consistent honor student but this year, I saw her struggle in some subjects and some major subjects, she did not good score. So I actually prepared her for the worst because I do not want her to be heart broken. And besides we never put pressure on her that she has to be an honor student. I am so very happy for both of them.

Yes children need motivation during their difficult time. By making her feel free she won't feel the burden. She will again start preparation with a fresh attitude.

No pressures at all. I actually prepared her for the worst scenario because there are some exams that were not that high. She is actually on her own studying except for some with computations like in math and science. I print her some worksheets for her practice.

That's wonderful. I'm glad you don't put too much pressure on the children to perform but it seems they are doing very well regardless.

I do not believe that putting pressure with kids will do them good. The medals that they will receive will not define them but just a part of them for their academic performance.

@JudyEv Oh yes, I try to say that to my kids, I want them to be successful in their future but having this is just a small part of it. It is their ability, skills and personality that will bring them success in life.

@rakski That's very true. The medals do not define them. That is a very wise comment.
