Poor Sheldon.* He would hate to learn there is someone smarter than he is. William James Sidis was born in Boston in 1898 and may have had the highest IQ ever recorded. He could read before he was 2 and by age 11 he had already mastered more than 40 languages. He invented one he called Vendergood. He entered Harvard when he was 11 and received a Bachelor of Arts degree on June 18, 1914 at the age of 16. Other people with high IQs are such notables as the mathematician and physicist Stephen W. Hawking with one of 160, actress Sharon Stone with one of 154 and world chess champion Garry Kasparov with one of 190. *For those who don't know my reference to Sheldon. He is one of the main characters on The Big Bang Theory.

Einstein had a fairly high IQ. Even geniuses have something lacking. They spend so much time in their heads that their hearts get neglected.

It always amazing how smart people can be. A lot of those with super high IQ's are often lacking somewhere else though, either in common sense, street smarts, or social cues. Some people with high IQ's are autistic or on the spectrum. Some don't do well in school or on tests either. I always felt like IQ tests weren't a good judge of one's intelligence. Some people are bad test takers for one reason or another. I knew a girl who was super intelligent who failed almost all of her classes because she had no interest in them. My husband is reasonably intelligent but always did horribly in school because they didn't allow him to do the things that interested him. Not everyone learns the same and not everyone can fit into some sort of mold when it comes to intelligence. Einstein did horribly in school if I remember correctly. I believe he is also the one who said: "Everyone is a genius but if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree it will live its whole life believing it is stupid."
