If you are a fan of travel, surely your eyes haven't missed out what's the latest top destination that comes across your news feed daily. And Boracay in Malay, Aklan, Philippines, the timeless picturesque white-sand beach has also for sure gotten your attention. But what if you had known that it will close by April 26 this 2018?
My friends have already had binge-selfied in the famous Willy's rock formation, Boracay's most selfied spot, because of the 6 month closure which starts a week before "LaBoracay". No more local and foreign tourists will be allowed by then. No more visitations of family members who reside there. In short, only residents and workers will be allowed to enter the island. Which by the way, will then be left out this summer in terms of tourism arrivals and income-generation.
If you had known that the prices will drop by half as the closure approaches would that interest you to delve into its pristine waters right now? There is just 4 days left. ??

I agree too. People have taken advantage of the beauty of the place and had profited from it without doing their part of taking care of the place.

Better that they close it for the island to recuperate. Have they done what they are supposed to do, this wouldnt happen in the first place. I know many will be affected but people had been selfish.

I visited Cebu Island and Bohol Island in February 2018. I wish I had been to more places in the Philippines. I had too limited time there I believe. Yes, I missed out on visiting Boracay Island. I think tourists will be disappointed that they can't visit that famous tropical island.

Don't believe the lies that they are peddling as reasons for the closure. The government and numerous agencies have said that they are closing Boracay for environmental reason... BS!
If that was the reason, why did the government allowed the construction of a mega-hotel casino that will no doubt bring more traffic to the island? The real reason for the closure of the island is to ensure that the pier/docks and roads can be fully utilized to bring the equipment, machinery, and materials to build this mega-hotel casino owned by the Chinese master of the killer that we have for a president.
