Omg! That is one huge bite! I'm sure it itches like crazy. Be careful you don't get infected.

Yeah, it sure is. I've been using a vinegar/baking soda mixture on it which has calmed the itch thankfully

@rebelann That's good! Now you need a beekeeper's hat to wear when you go outside.

Well, drinking it if it's organic yeah @sallypup but this is run of the mill white vinegar which I wouldn't drink to begin with but the bugs don't like the stuff.

@rebelann I thought you were supposed to drink vinegar not wear it.

Oh man, are they mosquitos with fangs gettin' at your nek? I wonder if a scarf around your neck would help when you go outside? I hate mosquitos if that's what it is . . . for some reason they go for my legs.

@rebelann Maybe mosquitos are too particular these days - just like kids these days ! As a kid I got them on my legs or arms - but I thought that's because those were the parts that were exposed (but never the face for some reason). I can't remember if I ever got bitten on the neck!

I didn't know mosquitoes only went for one body part, used to be if there were any they'd sting all over the place.

Yeah, used to be I'd get bitten up and down the parts of my legs and arms that were exposed but usually not the neck @much2say

Yes, it really socked it to me. I'm not sure if it was a mosquito or something else but at least the vinegar and baking soda cured the itch and today it's almost completely gone.

It looks like vampire bites and I didnt know that they can be so itchy. Hihi But kidding aside, have you visited a doctor and it checked?

Nah, doctors don't really know all that much about insect bites unless they studied entomology and even then they may not have a clue about what kind of bite this is.

Not exactly @mlgen1037 In spring there are a lot of hungry insects plus the winds bring in more insects and each year I get insect bites but mostly they are just itchy and irritating. I'd be more worried if it were a Black Widow sting or something like that.

@rebelann That's interesting, is there a lot of insects there this time of year. Mosquitos are out here pretty good at nightt, but do not see anything during day other than flies. Maybe put some tea tree oil on it.

There are always insects around here @crossbones27 more in early spring or late fall but since we rarely get really cold winters they don't have a reason to go n hide.

We have been getting bites too but not always in the same place. We've discovered that in our case it is probably chiggers - tiny thingies that bite. The bites itch like crazy for days and take a long time to heal completely.

I hope we don't have those here. I'd think they'd be more in the humid areas. Come to think of it, do chiggers jump at a person?

I'm allergic to the chemicals in bug sprays so I've been using vinegar, it seems to work plus the vinegar soothed the itchiness of the bites.
