Feeling good after the surgery to remove my wisdom teeth

Around midnight my son woke up to go the bathroom and said he was so hungry he felt he was going to throw up. He had eaten plenty but sometimes he gets this way as I did as a kid as well.
I took the puppy out in the morning and when I came back in he had thrown up. He seemed fine after but I felt so bad having to leave him to go to the surgery. My parents and sister live across the street so my dad checked on him while I was gone.
The staff at the oral surgeons office was very nice. I was telling the one girl about my fear of the anesthesia causing me to say weird or mean things. I told her I’m the kind of person who shouldn’t drink because I say and do stupid things that I regret weeks and months and sometimes years later. She laughed and said she is the same way!
They put the iv in and I said they don’t use the masks over the face anymore and I was going to say I could feel the effects of it and giggled but fell asleep before I could tell them why I giggled.
When I woke up the doctor was across the room and asked if I was okay and I said yes but that I had to close one eye to see him normally as there were two of him. I don’t remember it but my sister told me that when the guy was explaining what medicines he prescribed me I told him I won’t do drugs.
I took Advil as soon as I got home which is what the girl had told me when I got there. I still really have felt no pain from this surgery and barely any bleeding. My sister went down and filled my prescriptions for me. She brought back an antibiotic and Oxycodone. No wonder I told the guy I won’t do drugs I wouldnt have even filled the prescription had I known what it was. I rarely even take Advil for pain!
I took the cotton out had a tasteless coffee then took the puppy out for a walk and picked up metal and glass around the property. My nieces, nephew and father saw me out there and came over to play with the dog. I showed them the birds nest that now has eggs. In the photo day 2 had 2 eggs and yesterday had 3!
I did two loads of laundry that I folded and put away. I skipped the dishes as I didn’t want to overdo it and I hate doing them lol.
I didn’t eat anything but I made two new recipes a Peach crisp smoothie and a
Caramel pumpkin milkshake.
Mom messaged me all day long asking me how I was doing and she even thanked me for allowing her to drive me. I said No thank YOU I would have driven myself if the doctors had let me as I hate asking for help.

@LadyDuck I didn’t have any major issues so I can’t imagine why they wrote me a prescription for such a strong pain killer. Advil is working just fine heck I didn’t even really need that yesterday. I had more pain when my bottom wisdom tooth came in at 17 then I did having all 3 of these pulled out.

@JudyEv Yep it seemed to go really smoothly for me thankfully. Yesterday I was trying to pick up junk that had been dumped on the property over the years. I was carrying a heavy car battery up a hill and my gums started throbbing so I have to still take it easy. It's hard for me to just sit and heal and not be active doing what I want to do.

@JohnRoberts I sure hope so. I see the mother out there sitting on the keeping them warm it's so cute. I have never gotten to see birds hatch because stray cats always knock the nests down and kill the mom and the eggs break open and never get to mature. This is in a different spot so I am hoping they will be left along but it's still low enough a cat can jump and get them.

I remember the time my wisdom teeth were removed for my braces and I my face was sore when I was a work. I am glad you didnt feel any pain. You have a good dentist.
Also this is the first time I saw a blue egg. The eggs came from your bird pet?

@mlgen1037 that had to be awful working with a sore face when you had yours removed. When my bottom left wisdom tooth came in I was in pain for days with a hugely swollen cheek and jaw. Having these three teeth pulled was a breeze compared to that!
Nope these eggs in the photo are from a Robin outside. It made it's nest on the shed window ledge. I see the momma sitting out there on her eggs all the time now. I want to get a photo of her in her nest but I will have to take my good camera out for that to use the zoom lense. Usually I just take photos with my cell phone.

@mlgen1037 I would have preferred to be awake honestly. Was it terrifying being awake though? I plan to try to get a photo today it is a gorgeous day out and I'm trying to relax so I don't over do it today. I am a bit dizzy today so I think I need to try to eat more food other then smoothies.

@shaggin Yes, I could not do anything about it. I have to go to work that day. But my boss was kind enough to make me work at the Accounting department so that I wont scare people. You were to sleep when you had your surgery. I was awake the whole time. hehehe
Those eggs are beautiful. I hope you will be able to get a photo with the mother.

@bunnybon7 that is a really good point with his anxiety over me being away or dying it could have caused him to get sick that way. He was completely fine after that so it wasn't a stomach bug or anything.

@Tina30219 hmm I hadn't heard any warnings about not letting air get into my mouth. Thankfully today it is beautiful out and I may just sit outside with the puppy and enjoy the sunshine since I need to rest up a bit more today then I have been.

@Tina30219 thanks for the tips. I did know about the straw as that can cause a dry socket or something like that. I wonder how long I have to be careful like this though I feel they didn't send me home with enough information.

@shaggin Yeah they told me that when I had mine pulled could cause infection. Also don’t drink with a straw

I did not take any pain meds when I got my wisdom teeth out. I do not like to take any medication if I don't have to. It was just bleeding for me. The smoothie and milkshake sounds good. :) Glad your surgery went well, recovery soon!

@infatuatedbby I am taking Advil but honestly I think I would have been okay without that even. I really didn't bleed much. I have been drinking lots of smoothies since the surgery. I'm a little faint today though so I think I need to try to get something solid down like mashed potatoes etc or even add protein to my smoothie.

@infatuatedbby that's awesome I agree. I have a little pain today but am not giving in and taking any more Advil. Taking it often is bad for our bodies. If I can go without I do as well. I usually only wind up with a headache or cramps severe enough to need it twice a year or so.

@jaboUK thank you so much! My mom just messaged me asking if I want some Gatorade but I try to avoid sugar and Gatorade has a lot in it. I sent her a photo of the green smoothie I'm drinking. I needed some protein as I am light headed today.

I'm sure you were given the meds just in case, but I never needed anything when my wisdom teeth were removed. Glad you had such an easy time of it. You are lucky to have such a loving family close by.
I love your photos of the eggs in the nest!!! Birds amaze me!

@DianneN yes it is lucky my family lives across the street. I don't see them often though as I just stay to myself mostly. We are very different and so less is more lol. My mother has been texting me every few hours making sure I'm okay. It's very sweet. I am going to try to get a photo of the mama bird sitting on her nest today. She looks so cute sitting there with just the tip of her tail and head peeking over the nest.

@DianneN They are blue eggs like a teal color though so I can see why they might look different on your iPad. Some computer monitors I've had don't show true colors. They are Robins eggs. I got a surprise yesterday when I went out to take a photo of the mama. I got a photo of her and discovered an fourth egg in the nest.

@GardenGerty Thank you very much! I over did it a little today. I was chilly so I know I've been running a low grade fever. I took some scraps to put out to compost and couldn't resist all the metal scraps dumped down back over the years. I went down the hill to pick up what I could carry including a heavy car battery. By the time I got up the hill my gums were throbbing. Too much too soon. I shouldn't have to pick all this junk up to begin with if people would dumping stuff

I had removed the wisdom teeth years before as it grown half then given me much nuisance. But mine removed by injecting some medicine on gum and it took only some minutes. The pain after the surgery is hard to suffer.
Hope you will be alright soon.

@Sreelaka I’ve been putting off having my wisdom teeth out for 17 years but it was causing TMJ so it was time to get them out before problems got even worse. I wish I had just been given a numbing shot but at that office they put every patient out even to remove just one tooth. I really haven’t had any pain thankfully. The bottom one was more painful when I was 17 and it came in. My face was swollen and throbbing on that side for days.
