Is it time for me to quit drinking Milo?

Milo is a chocolate drink. I am not sure if it's famous in other countries, but it's very famous here. It seems like many kids drink it during breakfast. I didn't like to drink Milo when I was young, but I started drinking it since my first child was born. That's because I quit drinking coffee when I was pregnant and breastfeeding, and I was feeling hungry always, having a hot drink made me feel better, and hence I started to drink Milo. I have been drinking it for more than 9 years, and sometimes I even drink 4 cups a day. I don't think it's a healthy drink though it's advertised that way. It contains lots of sugar, and I am putting more and more scoops of Milo powder in my cup too. I always thought of quitting it once I stop breastfeeding, because I can go back to my favorite coffee and I shouldn't feel hungry so often. There's only less than a pack of Milo left in my home, and my husband couldn't buy it from the store last night. We usually buy it when it's on sale, otherwise it's actually quite expensive. My husband jokingly said, if he couldn't get it from the store that night, perhaps it's a sign that I should quit, and it happened. So, perhaps it's really time for me to quit drinking Milo and find some healthier drink instead. To quit or not to quit? Do you like to drink Milo or any chocolate drink?

Milo is quite popular in Australia and well known. When we were in Thailand in the late 1990s, Milo was on sale all over the place. We were told that Thailand didn't drink much tea or coffee so Nestle were having a big push to get Milo established as a good drink product for young and old.

I never heard of Milo, I make at home a chocolate drink using cocoa powder and milk, I think it's a lot healthier than ready made products.

I like Milo. If you don't drink it so much, I think it will be alright. Anything will become unhealthy if you take it so much.

I do not know Milo . . . perhaps it's like Carnation Instant Breakfast, Ovaltine, or Quik here? But yes, all of them are loaded with sugar - and I only let my kids have it as an occasional treat. The thing is the kids can get choose to get chocolate milk in the free "suppers" they get at school here - I don't like that.

I used to drink Milo during my student years. It's a popular chocolate energy drink in the Philippines, and may be needed for the energetic younger population. When I started my work I became a coffee and tea drinker.I still drink chocolate drinks occasionally when I needed an energy boost.I think it's still a healthy drink without the added sugar.

Ive never heard of it that I know of! I love Ovaltine. Its not something I drink every day because it does have a ton of sugar. Its a special treat and a canister (about $4.50) can last me 2-3 months if not more!

Sounds like a drink with less sugar would be better. Friends who used to live in Australia drink it sometimes. Otherwise it is not that common here. (Canada)
