Yesterday's Broadway play and dinner outing

I went to see The Play That Goes Wrong on Broadway yesterday with my husband. I have never laughed so hard and so much in a long time. Neither did he. All that laughing led to lots of happy tears but thankfully not to peeing in my pants. So glad I finally went to see this play. I really needed all that laughing. And it was such a great show! Before that we went out to eat. We went to a Spanish restaurant nearby for some tapas. It was high 80s to low 90s outside yesterday, so I expected the inside of the place to be nice and cool. It was hot and unbearable. The one fan on the ceiling in the middle of the room did nothing. And sitting next to the outside area didn't help either. I was sweating a lot. And sitting on the chair, my pants got stuck to my legs and my underwear was soaked. I made a reservation for 4:30 pm so we would have enough time to enjoy our dinner without rushing and make it to the 7 pm show. We ended up getting there at 3:30 pm, so decided not to wait and just go eat then. We ordered four tapas. One of them we had to send back because it had pork in it, which wasn't in the description of the dish. Because of that we had to order something else in its place. And then we shared one desert. And had a few drinks throughout the dinner. Two and half hours passed from time we sat down to the time we left. It shouldn't have taken that long to eat and pay the bill, especially since the place was pretty empty when we arrived. The food wasn't bad but nothing special. And the service wasn't top notch either. It took longer than it should have for the food to arrive and it took awhile before we got our dessert menus and the bill. I am not sure I will go back to this restaurant again. If I crave for tapas, there are other places to try.

I wish the dining experience had been great as well. If we had come to the place at 4:30 and it would have taken the same time to dine there we'd have been late for the show. Glad we got there when we did.

I think your going to watch the play after dinner was good.Whatever disappointment you felt with the food disappeared when you enjoyed the play.

It's a shame the meal and service wasn't up to scratch. Hopefully the play made up for it a little.

Good that you did not allow the dinner to spoil your evening.
