Well, we got some bad news and then some good news. Keith's late shift at John Deere has ended. It is the end of their busy season and they were letting all of the extra help go. He was included in that "extra help" area. We were told that Thursday was to be the last day and that they were going to start a smaller first shift for a select few employees from the "extra help" shift. He was told he was not a part of it and he began the process of looking for another job. He got a text this morning at 4:30 and one of his bosses wanted to know if he wanted to go to the first shift. Of course, we did not get this text until after 8 am. He gladly accepted and his boss told him he would know by noon if he had the job. Luckily, he has the first shift position! He still has a job! We are truly blessed.

That is sad and awesome. Awesome he left such a good impression on the boss who matters. The one that rehired him. I so hate corporate world and how uncaring they are. Oops, did I say that out loud.

@crossbones27 We are so very happy. This place is actually not bad to work at. They run a tight ship but they are not bad to their employees. I am hoping that this means he will get hired on permanently because he started out as a temp through an agency.

Wow, that's awesome that Keith was able to get on the first shift! And working for a company like John Deere. It's always been a company I have admired. I hope he takes lots of pride in the work he does, because John Deere is known for its quality workmanship!

@moffittjc He loves it and he certainly does take pride in his work. They are coming out with a new smaller mower for homeowners and he has been telling everyone he talks to about it.

@Shellyann36 I've always wondered why John Deere hasn't sold small mowers for homeowners! I guess my wish is now going to come true!

Well, that worked out quite nicely. MUCH better than having to look elsewhere, and I am sure working for John Deere is a good paying job with some nice bennies to boot.

@PainsOnSlate thank you! It does get hectic when he is laid off. Those few days that he was looking for a job did not seem promising. I am so glad that they needed one more person!

@Starmaiden yes it is great news. He will have to get accustomed to the shift and getting up at 4 am to be to work by 6 am. We discussed that earlier today. It will be fun to see how it turns out.
