How Many Flash Drives Do You Keep

I was given a computer flash drive (data stick) today, making my collection about nine of them now. I am quite happy to keep accumulating them, after all they let me have additional back up for my many files, folders and photos. I use some with my home computer and others with my tablet-laptop, and one for use when out just in case anyone has files to share with me or I need to check in through library computers, etc. What amazes me is how many people give away flash drives because they feel they already have enough, or even just one. To me there can never be enough of them. Arthur Chappell

I'm like you. I have little understanding of what they are.

@1hopefulman Me too. I feel better when I learn other people are almost or nearly as uninformed as I am about computers.

@JudyEv I don't know the tech, I do like having lots of files to carry round - printed out so much material would be impossible to carry

My brother gave me 2 years ago a sort of outside hard disc (I don´t know the name). I have a lot of information there and the burglars did not steal it as they did not know what it was.

@marguicha that is good, their value was overlooked - sorry you were burgled at all though

@arthurchappell The burglars stole all my jewelry. They had more sentimental value as they weren´t really expensive.

@marguicha still bad to be broken into at all - not been robbed for years but it always hurts

I still have some flash drives today as it is convenient to have it. I have one for work and others for my own needs. Such as I will store some software or some important documents inside. Sometimes I will use it to store a movie or documentary to watch by TV.

@1hopefulman not in any trouble but they are handy back up systems and friends can share files with you even if you don't have your computer available

I have 4 that I use regularly, my husband a lot more. I am looking at his desktop and I see 9 in front of his keyboard.

@arthurchappell He keeps different data on different sticks. I think that one he has now is mine, I have to check (while he is not looking).

I have three and sometimes feel the need for another one. I don't have all that many files, but it's nice to keep things separate and to be able to carry one with me, as you said.

In order to save money I got myself a very inexpensive laptop that doesn't have a lot of storage in it. For this reason, I keep a memory stick on my key chain with enough memory to back up the documents I would otherwise keep in my computer. One is good enough for me.
