Cleaning Tip- Ceiling Fans

With Spring here that means Spring cleaning. Here is a great tip to help make things a bit easier.
I always made a mess whenever I cleaned my ceiling fans with a feather duster. The dirt, grime, and dust just fell on the floor creating another mess to clean up.
Well, I found this tip from Geico Now magazine which makes cleaning the fans much easier. Use an old pillowcase instead! That's right, just put the pillowcase over the fan paddle and let that dust come off inside. No mess! Except the pillowcase....

Not a bad idea! I climb the ladder and I use good old fashion soap and water. AND I have not cleaned mine yet for the Spring.

@dgobucks226 I am, too. I have a ways to go to get to that part of spring, though! And I'd better hurry.

Your welcome. Seems like an effective and easy way to do it. With spring here I am anxious to try it

It isn't normally warm enough over here to need a ceiling fan but it's a good idea to save making a mess on the floor.

@dgobucks226 I can relate to that. I made some amazing de-hairing tools in my time to get rid of animal hair,

Great idea DB. Spring still has not made up its mind to come to Jerusalem. Don't have a ceiling fan. Have fans that stand up and do need cleaning inside.

We have got ceilings fans just like the ones you have depicted in the picture! Though your suggestion sounds fine, such fans require more cleanings at more other places! I use a stand ladder to get the fans clean! Thanks @dgobucks2261

I use the Swiffer electrostatic pads. I have asthma, so I'm very careful about stirring up any dust.

Swifter makes quite a few cleaning products. I have the floor mop, works great

After having the dust make a mess on my floor last time I cleaned the fans (one which is right over my bed) this tip was perfect!
