Heading to Arizona in Two Hours

We are heading to Arizona this afternoon, but my one brother that lives in the area is picking us up first, so we have to be ready by ten this morning, just two hours away. I have our suitcases packed, although I forgot to keep out my pj's in case my luggage gets lost. They would be going into my carry-on bag instead. We will try to be on the road by 10:45am. We have another sister to pick up and then go wait at my brother's son's home as his wife, my SIL is babysitting until their son can watch the kids for a bit. If their son, my nephew is running late we may still leave as the grandchild is old enough to be alone for awhile. I just don't think they do that too often and didn't want to start today. Our plane leaves from Detroit at 3:30 and because of the time difference we will arrive there somewhere after four even though it's about a three hour trip. I'm anticipating the ride to the airport to be uncomfortable, but I've ridden in that vehicle when I went to Guatemala and don't really remember being squished, so maybe we'll be okay. I purchased more data for my phone so I can use it for a GPS while in Arizona. I don't know whether doing that changed my phone's ability to post or what. I'd hoped to be able to mylot during the flight. I know only airplane mode is available during the take-off and landing, but I'm thinking more is possible once were in the air, but honestly I could be wrong about that since the last time I flew anywhere was Hawaii somewhere around fifteen years or more ago. We are going down for a surpise 60th birthday for my other brother. He has no idea all his siblings will be there. He does know that my brother that is driving us to the airport will be there as his kids asked that he *(driving brother) tell him (birthday brother) that they would be staying with him so he didn't go on his own trip elsewhere. We have to stay hidden until tomorrow night and then we can spend more time with everyone there. I expect I'll have time to mylot somewhere along the way. (I was going to use my luggage image on this one and decided to use this one instead. As I was packing I went through things left in the suitcase from when my kids used it and found these earnings and necklace. I am taking the necklace as it matches the shirt I'll be wearing and it's almost an exact match). [Picture will be uploaded from my phone in a moment. Well maybe not. I keep running into a runtime error on my phone and when I tried to access it from my desktop it doesn't open like my other phone did. I guess I'll have to find out how to gain access to my photos later].

Enjoy your trip. It’s good to have the important things in a carry on luggage to avoid losing them

My smaller carry-on seems heavier than the carry-on containing my clothes and related items. I don't seem able to upload the photos of it here.

@aureliah I don't know how often that happens. Three years ago when I went to Guatemala on a mission trip my suitcase was the only one last for a couple days. Not sure where it went. I had a chance of clothes with me, so I was good.

@MarshaMusselman At least your valuable items do not stand a chance of getting lost

@MarshaMusselman We have some palm trees in the South West of England, but not many elsewhere.

Thanks, Janet. We just landed. I'd forgotten about there being Palm trees in Arizona. I like them. Probably because they aren't anywhere near Michigan.

@jaboUK I enjoy viewing all the trees but I really like seeing the Palm trees and banyan trees. I don't think those are in Arizona as I've not seen them there. But there were several types out sizes in Hawaii when we went years ago.

Thank you. I'm sure we will. The majority of us that the birthday boy doesn't know is coming will be hiding so in case he comes to the baggage claim area offer where people come out from security that he won't see us. The brother going on the trip with is will be giving us the "All clear" once they head away in the car We have cousins that lives there that I've not seen in over twenty years that we'll be spending time with too. we
