Coccinia grandis is it's botonical name. It belongs to the family cucurbitacea. In India , it's mostly commonly found in the state of Kerela, but it's also available in other states too! In different states of India, this vegetables has different names, like, kovaikaai, kowai, thondankaai, etc. It's also called as ivy gourd and scarlet gourd. It tastes crunchy , juicy and tasty and also taste bitter sometimes. It has lots of health benefits like it's best for those who have sugar, regulate blood pressure and also helps in proper digestion! And this is one of my favourite veggie and today mum is going to prepare this for me. I mostly prefer as curry;-) Do you know this ivy gourd? Do you like to eat this? If you know anything, apart from these, do share Share your views, please. Image courtesy Google.
