How do I use My lot emoji?

Today is my second day in my lot though I have read through the guidelines and FAQ, am yet to see how I can add emoji to my comment to make it more fun. Each time I add emoji from my keyboard, it shows double question marks after the message has been posted.
Can old my lot users help a newbie on how to go about it please?

When you respond there are 2 options ( add image and myLot code) press myLot code and you will see emojis here..
