Slightly darker or tanned skin has a certain beauty and glow that us caucasians find attractive and appealing.
Myself, I am a pasty white with freckles. I am of Irish decent and burn easily in the sun. If I could tan without burning I would be happy.
A friend of mine has eczema and keeping her skin tanned helps to keep it under control.
There are lots of reasons caucasians tan, but mostly it is because they find it attractive.

I've heard something like that Lucinda.I understand now...but probably aside from being attractive, some caucasians have other reasons too... But what I I really find funny for some Asians who have fair complexion to get tanned when they travel to the tropical countries....I find it more funny though they already have tanned skin, they want to get more tanned...

Most of the time they are frozen at home so it is nice to have a chance of weather where they could peel off their clothes to allow the sun to come into contact with them. It feels as good for them just like how it would have been if we are going to their countries to feel the winter weather

Yes, to have a contact with the Sun is understandable...but I've seen a lot of them sunbathing on the beach for almost the whole day though...:D

same as, most Asians who are using whitener, soap, lotion and a lot of stuff just to get fair skin.

Right...and I couldn't find some logical reason about that..why most Asians desperately desire for white skins while the Caucasians desire to be tanned...whatever the reasons maybe, each one has their own right to do anything they want :D

Hahahaha me too, Judy. But I am not caucasian though..I do have fair complexion and I would love to hide from the Sun as much I could :D
