Christopher Reeves has always been a favorite actor of mine. I enjoyed him in Somewhere In Time almost as much as the Superman movies. Good looks only adds to the over all wonder of the man. I thought he was perfect for the role of Superman. Thought it pretty chintzy of the academy to always give top billing to such other actors as Gene Hackman and Marlon Brando. He was the star of the films after all.
As most of you know Christopher was paralyzed from the neck down when thrown from a horse he was riding in a equestrian event held in Charlottesville, Virginia on May 27,1995. But, did you know that he was allergic to horses? He had learned to ride for a television mini-series he doing in 1977. He bought the thoroughbred, Eastern Express, in 1995 and was riding it when he was paralyzed.
Christopher died October 10, 2004 when he was being treated for a pressure wound that had become infected. This is rather sad because he reportedly was beginning to be experiencing some return of feeling his body around this same time.

I loved Somewhere in Time. It was such a good movie and sad too. He was awesome in it. I think even more than Superman. He did have a sad ending to his life.

It is one of my all time favorite movies. Did you know that there was a Somewhere In Time fan club that met annually at the site where a lot of the movie was filmed?

@celticeagle No I didn't realize that. My kids had a field trip last year to Mackinaw Island and seeing the hotel made me think of that movie. It's not open to tours anymore though, but it is still beautiful.

In my opinion the late Christopher Reeve and the late George Reeves (no relation) were the best actors to play Superman. Reeves played Superman on television in the 1950s. George did admit he loathed playing the role of The Man Of Steel.

I always enjoyed Christopher Reeves easy-going acting style. He fit the Superman role perfectly, just as George Reeves always displayed such calm while everyone else was panicking around him so did Christopher. Even playing Clark Kent his mannerisms and shyness really nailed the role! Did not know he was gaining some feeling back when he passed? I saw him in a broa

He sure did fit the role perfectly. A "broa"?
