Good evening to one and all how are you? I just want to get this out of my head, my mind, and my heart. I do not like to sleep with heavy emotions, so after I post this discussion, I will switch off the desktop and watch TV. I am ranting about my sister and her attitude. Before we had our dinner, she was saying she can smell cockroaches’ droppings although there were none. When she and my son finished their meal and I was still eating, she suddenly said again,” I still smell the droppings”. I kept quiet, hoped she stop. But she continued. I told her in a loud voice, “Manang, can you stop while I am still eating?” she replied, “You cannot see anyway”. I replied, “Precisely, but you keep on telling that and I am still eating. Don’t you recall what Mamang (our mother) told us before? ‘Talk of pleasant things while eating on the dining table’.” She stopped when I mentioned our mother. Now, she is watching TV. I will join her later after I post this. It is so hard to have a sister like her. But I love her despite her attitude. She is my only sister, after all!

Not a good subject for dinner talk. She must have super good sense of smell if she thinks she can smell roach dropping.

hahaha! yes, that is one question i ask her sometimes because she remarks that her sense of smell is not properly functioning now that she is getting older.

Yea, not a thing I would want to discuss while I am eating.. I have never heard of anyone smelling cockroach droppings before... This is a new one to me. Sometimes siblings can be most annoying.. but like you say.. we only have them.. we can not choose our family. lol

@ridingbet absolutely.. sometimes I look at people in my family and say if they were strangers.. I would not have even chosen to be friends with them as we are just to different with nothing in common..

yes. i would always initiate a conversation about the finalists of a noontime show's singing competition and she joins me. that was what we were talking about yesterday when suddenly she said,"may amoy dumi ng ipis talaga". (the droppings of the roach smell, really).

Yup, I've got one just like that @ridingbet and she's just lucky that I haven't dug a hole yet in my woods; just for her.

When you live together, you will fall out withe each other often which is acceptable. That cannot stop you from loving each other

i agree. even though we speak against each others in opinion, at the end of the day, we are sisters. last night again, she repeated the same. she smelled cockroaches' droppings while we were having our dinner.

I think that's rude while you are eating. I didn't know people could smell cockroach droppings.

my sister has that unique personality of smelling anything though she cannot smell her food.

Not exactly the topic you want to talk about while eating.

right on that. if not me mentioning my mother, she might continue with her talk.
