Quirky road-side mail-boxes in Tasmania

Today we went for a short drive along a ‘mail box trail’ where land-owners have put a lot of effort into installing some quirky mail-boxes at the entrance to their properties. I’ve put the best into a collage but it did mean having to leave out some very nice examples.
We are finding the roads here in Tasmania very winding with some incredible switchbacks up, down and around the various hills. We were pleased that we had left the caravan at the park and taken off in the car for some sight-seeing. Do you see any fancy mail-boxes where you live?

@JudyEv I understand the rules, the mailmen sit in their car and they deposit the mail without stopping the car and coming out. It is important to have all the mailboxes as the same height. You can include a regular one in a column if you like, the important is "same dimension, same height".

WOW! Some of those mailboxes are very inspired, Judy!
I have seen a couple of different ones that really caught my attention while driving here in Missouri... One I noticed when I was still living at my parent's house. It was a mailbox on a post with the words 'snail mail' written on it. Looking on up the mailbox post you could see another mailbox about 15 feet up, with the words 'air mail' written on it.
That always tickled my fancy whenever we drove past it.
The other mailbox has the look of a full size beef cow. Uhm... you put the outgoing mail in and take the incoming mail out by
lifting her tail.
(This one, like many of the ones you saw, had to have taken a lot of work!)
Pretty is actually the one who first saw the cow mailbox. She insisted we stop to see how it worked.
Just between us, I think the owner was a pervert. (He kept lifting the cow's tail and putting an envelope in and lifting it again to take it out while watching
Pretty blush! After the third demonstration, I insisted it was time to leave!) *shake my head*1 person likes this

@DaddyEvil Well, at my age, I don't like to be too rude.

It might sound strange to you but I was staggered when I first saw mail coming through a slot onto the hall floor. I'd seen the slots and knew it happened of course but to see the letters actually coming through seemed quite unreal.

Nothing like those for certain. Great fun for them.

@JudyEv Yes, are you going to do that when you get home?

@JamesHxstatic No because we don't have a mailside delivery - but rest assured we will if we ever get the chance.

The whole road has these quirky letter-boxes. Hopefully it brings tourists to the area.

Maybe some junk mail finds them. And the internet may not be too reliable in some of these places.

Sometimes, a fish is one. Back when my sister was in lockup I went to visit her in the next state and I was driving through the country side and there was a huge mailbox, I meal 20 feet tall and as big as a New York Apartment. I got out and took photos, the companion took them of me beside it, you can barely see me!

I didn't see any that were that huge. I'm not surprised you stopped and took photos.

Those are unique but then aren't Tassies known to be quirky themselves?

No there are some that are decorative and cool looking but nothing extraordinary like that. I have a cardinal one by the way. The funniest ones here are usually airmail boxes stuck up in the air..Wonder what the postman thinks of those? lol

Maybe the airmail boxes are just for show. A cardinal one sounds nice.

The standard letter-boxes aren't very exciting are they?

As you are so creative I'm sure you could come up with something a bit quirky!
