Play it Again, Sam #17b - "Like a Hurricane"

"And the foggy drip." I have no idea what that means, but it's a lyric from today's Play it Again, Sam, so it works for me. We are at #17b, the "cover" portion: The Mission's cover of Neil Young and Crazy Horse's "Like a Hurricane." I've made no secret that The Mission (known as The Mission UK here in the States) is my favorite band. Their roots can be traced back to the early Sisters of Mercy, and much like that band, the early Mission did cover songs for use as B-Sides for their singles. Their cover of "Like a Hurricane" was recorded as the B-Side of their single, "Garden of Delight," and was later included on the band's compilation album, The First Chapter. I've always referred to The Mission as an arena rock band trapped in a goth band's body. "Like a Hurricane" definitely leans towards the group's arena rock side. I love it!
