why are you following me?

Or, the tale of the bit-players. I forgot to tell you about the bit-players who shared the music joy with me on Sunday. So, there was Leggy Beauty in her very short blue floral dress. I first saw her when she used the portaloo. I saw her again on the other side of the venue when I found myself jiggling along to the music directly behind her. At this point we were all nearly treated to a view of her knickers; she was one of those who stretched to lift her phone high in the sky so as to enjoy the concert at home, later. And then, I saw her again as we walked along the road back to the car. We practically held hands as we walked along, we were that close. There was also Snogging Couple. They were sitting near us as Tom Bailey played his set, but suddenly disappeared. Not in a puff of smoke, silly. Later, as A-ha played, I found myself directly next to Snogging Couple, again on the other side of the venue. Smoker Guy wandered around the venue quite a bit. I recognise him from somewhere else. Football matches? College? Someone I once was friendly with, a long time ago? I know not. However, in between OMD and A-ha he sat next to me and smoked a f.a.g. {which must be written in such a way because myLot is an American site and thinks it's a big bad word, but let's me put fanny* so, you know, swings and roundabouts, eh?} Our route home in the car took us back past the venue and who should cross the road directly in front of our car? Yes, Smoker Guy him-very-self. I realise that this is ordinary. My brain picked these people out for some reason and so I noticed them more than others, but it still freaks me out a little, makes me think my life is just a Truman Show. There were a fair few thousand people there, after all, and we moved around a bit. Why was everybody else so unnoticeable and irrelevant? For some bizarre reason it really frustrates me. *sigh* *a rude word in British English, referring to a lady's private parts, don't you know. Oi, no sn.iggering {seriously, myLot? What about Sc.unthorpe? [Nope, heaven help anyone who lives there!]} at the back, boys.

@mlgen1037 In their homes, or their workplaces, laughing with family and friends, snuggled up reading a good book, painting portraits, dancing in nightclubs, shopping in supermarkets ... I know not!

I usually notice people I dislike. When I enter a grocery store I immediately notice annoying people and they seem to follow me. I hope you enjoyed the concert despite "smoking-guy". I cannot stand the smell of smoke, another reason not to go to live concerts.

@Poppylicious I think we will never eradicate smoking, the big companies do not want this. There are very few people who smoke, but one smoker sitting in the outside tables at a restaurant is enough to pollute all the others sitting there. I am glad that inside is now banned everywhere.

There was only person who followed me my entire life and that is the robber but I manage to avoid him in the cinema.

The same thing happens to me at concerts or other outdoor gatherings. I will keep running into the same people over and over...outside the venue, inside the venue, enjoying the music, waiting in the cue for drinks, etc. Yes, we're all a part of the Truman Show! haha

It does make me feel like I'm going mad, but at least if it happens to you too, I know I must just be normal!!

It is very odd how we seem to pick out certain individuals and then notice them over and over. Probably dozens of other people crossed your path more often than these people but you just didn't notice. The chances are those people are telling everyone how everywhere they went they bumped into you!! I always remember when i was a kid we were travelling from Newcastle to Scarborough. At the start of the journey we were waiting at some traffic lights and as they turned green a horrendously overweight bloke sauntered out in front of us to cross the road. My uncle wound down his window and hurled some abuse at him and we continued on our way. We stopped in the North Yorkshire market town of Guisborough to get a cuppa and a snack and to stretch our legs. As we headed back to the car we turned the corner leading to the car park and guess who was walking out of the car park! Yup! Horrendously overweight jaywalker. Amusing story regarding Scun.thorpe. When the council got a new email system they were surprised to find that people seemed to have stopped sending emails to them. After a few hours they realised that the nawty word filters were bouncing every single email sent to them because everyone's email address had the word Scun.thorpe in it.

@Poppylicious It might well have done if my uncle hadn't taken evasive action by crossing the street and taking a detour before he was seen!!

I thought your story was going to end with the horrendously overweight chap sitting on your uncle in retaliation for the rude words sent in his direction many miles earlier!
