A good and hot Tuesday high noon to all, my fellow myLotters, how is everyone?
Yesterday morning when the power outage began, my sister, coming from the store, said something that made us all worry much. The man who always sells us duck embryo eggs(balut) was reportedly killed last Sunday. Juaning as he is called, was gunned down by 2 men. The news or rumor was told to my sister by C, the owner of the store.
We felt sorry for ‘his demise’; even my son who recalled how Juaning would not get the P2 out of the P52 for the price of 3 duck embryo eggs felt angry at the 2 men. Then yesterday afternoon, the local news announced the crime but the name of the victim was not Juaning’s name. (Juaning was an employee of the radio station when my sister was the station manager.) I then told my sister to call anybody from the radio station to verify if it was really Juaning who was murdered.
Last night too, I told my son to listen to the man who would shout BALUT.
Then this morning…
My sister went to the store and she was met by the owner of the store, C. C said they erred in telling my sister the name of the ‘balut’ vendor, and it was not Juaning. The victim was killed by the police where 1 posed as a buyer of drugs; the vendor pulled out his gun and fired but the policemen fired back.
Really, rumors are bad especially if these are not confirmed, verified, and substantiated.
Next time, my sister, get the facts straight. Good thing you did not spread the rumor; how if Juaning heard that He is killed by rumors?

@ridingbet The policemen did their job and what they did is to protect the population, it's well done.

@minx267 maybe this time he should be more careful. if by chance we will buy 2 eggs from him, i will advise him to not sell far from where he lives. the crime happened about 2 kilometers away from where our locality is.

@AKRao24 not at all. i do receive a few likes and comments but it is on how i respond to a comment that i can make a thread out of it. i have not even reached, as of late, likes of 20 or more. i just like threading comments.

no, Juaning did not sell balut the other night (Monday night) and that made us think he was the one who was murdered. even last night, but knowing he was not the one, gave us a sigh of relief. for us Pinoys, that would mean Juaning will live longer.

@rakski yes, and good luck came to him. Juaning is a decent man so i did not believe it outright when the rumor was told by my sister; my son too

i agree with you. even rumors about families broken apart due to couples having extra-marital affairs. the children will suffer most.

it was not a fake news. some balut vendor was actually murdered and it is god the victim is not Juaning.
