In my country, Both the cops and military mostly worked together to fight against multiple insurgencies left and right.
But this is the first time that they end up fighting each other. Called it mis-encounter, but this is dumb because they're just meters away from each other.
I don't know what the cops were doing in the mountains but they shouldn't be there unless they coordinated with the army.
What should they have done to avoid this from happening? They thought they were communist rebels, they weren't wearing uniform.
Rebels are definitely laughing now.

Hello @mlgen1037 Not really, this is one of those isolated incident people don't want. But chain of command is at fault here.

@Letranknight2015 For sure it is but it says something how things are handled here. It is not nice to hear these kinds of stories.

there are many instances that our military men and police authorities get this friendly fire encounters. i hope those in authority will be vigilant of the other troops and not openly fire at them.

Who needs enemies when you kill your allies. That has also happened before with the Americans firing at Canadians during the Gulf War and the war in Afghanistan.

I hope you wont be offended but I am dying of laughing the moment I read this. Who trained these people? How did they end up with a licence. This is where leadership is needed. Bad leadership leads to mishaps like this.3 people like this

They should work together really but this happens here too.
Not on a large scale but enough for them to be almost enemies sometimes.

Hello @lovinangelsinstead21 For me, six officers who are doing their duty and not acting like criminals die this way is already horrible as it is.
