Decluttr Declined

The website decluttr declined the first three barcodes I entered into their site. "Sorry, we aren't accepting these at this time. Try Another?" No Thanks Decluttr, I'll try somewhere else. So off I went to SecondSpin. I entered the code and "0.25". Yes, 25 cents. One Quarter, two dimes and a nickel, five nickels or twenty five pennies. Well okay then, uhm... Maybe? Now I have to decide whether it is worth it to go through SecondSpin (which you have to pay shipping for) or try a thrift book / dvd store. Reviews say they are stingy but I would rather have them gone quicker than to go to the work of entering them into a website, getting very little and having to pay for shipping. So tomorrow or the next day will probably have me going to a local store and seeing if I can get some money for them there. Even if it's just pennies on the dollar, it's pennies I didn't have before with less of a hassle. DVD anyone?

They pay nothing for used DVDs and books right now. I am going to donate, quick and easy.

I am going to try to sell them here and if not then I guess I'll start donating. I don't want to go to the hassle of opening a ebay store or selling through amazon, facebook, craigslist, let go etc etc etc. I would like to get money out of mine but if not, I'd just like them gone! There are more than 500 dvds here. It definitely won't be "quick and easy".

@LadyDuck This is true but the reward is worth it. Whehter you end up getting money or just end up getting rid of it. There are some things of my mothers that I haven't been able to display and some things of hers I need to get rid of also. Some of this is a long time coming.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I am also going to donate those we do not want. It takes time even to try to cash some dollars.

Nothing I have would be worth anything to anyone, I am sure. I would rather give them away than deal with Second Spin at the rate you describe the offers.

Yes, I definitely got more by going out to the far side of town. Plus I can get rid of them faster, get cash in hand and overall see the good that comes from cleaning out the shelves. I probably have a few things that others would be interested in but I'm going to donate some things like old books, little knick knacks and Christmas decor.

The shipping is ridiculous.

Decluttr gives you a free shipping label so that shipping is supposedly free. Of course they probably wouldn't take half the dvd's I have. I've got enough here to start my own rental business.

DVDs just aren't worth anything as nobody buys them anymore. Blu-rays too. We had lots to get rid of last year. We tried Music Magpie but the money they offered wasn't even worth the hassle of packaging them up and posting, free shipping or not. In the end we gave them all to the local charity shop.

I am hoping I can pawn them off for a little bit of money. If not then I guess I'll be giving them to the donation places around here.

Pawn shops used to buy DVD`s and you get money and pay nothing. Sell the box for one price. Put it on Craig`s list or face groups to come get`em, that way you get money and save the gas too.

I don't feel comfortable with having people come and get anything. That's one reason why I haven't done it that way.
