It’s not fun part of summer but even during summer we have to study for school. This little girl of mine has to do daily reading. We some time add in reading and math to keep her mind sharp and ready for this up coming school year. She is a raising 2nd grader. She was behind in reading so we are trying to get her up to her other peers or close to it. She has been tested to see if she has dyslexia and we are waiting to see who’s therbtest results say. We are taking this slow and practicing by reading as much as we can.

The library has story time which I do with my youngest during the school year. We have a 100 day summer reading challenge through the library but that’s it.

Hi C. I have a student who had dyslexia and I am not sure if the parents are doing something about it. But it is nice that you are there to guide your daughter.

With dyslexia there isn’t much to do but reflect letters because that deals with eyes and the brain flipping the letter or sounds till it reaches your ears. Very common .most actors actually have it.

@mlgen1037 lots of learning disabilities are genetic passed from a parent to child before birth this happens while the Brian is developing. What time will be determined in elementary years. Programs are designed but each person is very different because no two brains work the same way. The mystery of the brain has never been solved and probably won’t. What will work for her I don’t know till we sit down and talk and try a couple of things. Dyslexia is very common most people in the world have one from of it or another it’s about training your brain certain tricks. My tricks wouldn’t work on my daughter.

It's good to be busy during the summer. My girls have to do some math and science during the break. I hope you get good results. Kids learn at different pace and I'm sure your little girl will have her time sooner or later.

We are trying to find out if she just slow and needs a slow down or if she has some form of a learning disability. It wouldn’t surprise me if she does because I still have one and grew up with it. I did lots of summer reading programs even math too. I make sure it’s not a lot. It’s normally a boom, and either some writing or some math almost every day. Some days we just play around.

Reading is good for everyone. Although I know not everyone likes to read. I don’t really enjoy reading but I try to so I can set a good example for the kids
