I finished reading this third installment in the Midnight, Texas series by Charlaine Harris last night. It was by far the
most action packed and exciting of the three books in the series that I have read. It deals with more of the history of the
town and we find out finally who the mysterious family running the only eating establishment in Midnight is.
Night, Shift centers around the vampire in town Lemuel. Up until now, there hasn't been anything really known about the pale cold
man, but in this book his story unfolds and not only do we learn about how and why he was changed, we learn about the family he had before
he was changed to a vampire. I was not a huge fan of him when I first started reading the series, but after learning more about him in this book- he
is more likable. Especially seeing a diffrent side of him when his relationship status is put out in the open.
While a major part of this story does revolve around Lemuel, a large part of the second half is about Fiji and her connection to the town. She learns a great
deal about her aunt who also possesed the same gifts as her. The last few chapters involve Fiji in a way that is central to the small communties survival. I have to
say that the storyline involving Fiji was a big surprise and I didn't really expect it to unfold like it did. That part alone made this book work reading. I have yet
to check to see if there are anymore books in this series past this one, but I plan to read them if there are. This one made the series much more entertaining and exciting
to read.
Again, this novel- just like the rest of the series is a supernatural book. The other two were definate young adult books, this one does have a little more adult situations
towards the end. Nothing that isn't in just about every other book, movie or music video but there is a "sexual" scene in one of the last chapters. It isn't too graphic
or anything- but I figured it was worth mentioning.
I give this one a 4.5 out of 5 stars.

I just recently found the first season at Walmart. It looks good. Looks like there will be a second season.
Are there any more or is it just these three
