Countries within a country

Was on a recent visit to Bodh Gaya. This is where Buddha attained enlightenment. It was an awesome experience to stand under the peepul tree which was the fifth generation of the original tree according to the plaque put up at the Mahabodhi Temple. Being an important place for Buddhism, all Buddhist countries have their own temples, guesthouses and charitable trusts built there. Each have their unique architectural style. There were Japanese, Vietnamese, Thailand ,Mongolian and Bhutanese temples to name just a few. The picture is a view of the entrance to a Buddhist monastry, taken by me.

@mlgen1037 these are just temples of different countries in my country, so factually the title is not correct, writer's license to get a catchy title

It so amazing to look at the wall paintings. Is it hand-made work of art?

Wow, that is fascinating. I saw your reference to the Peepful Tree and when I looked it up it referred to a tree that was planted by mankind in 288BC, I would not have known about that if not for this discussion, thanks.

We were not allowed to take mobiles inside the Mahabodhi temple, so could not take a photo. Which was quite right , it is a world heritage site and full of security. But all was serene inside
