I work in a healthcare, but I don't want to go to the ER. Unfortunately, I have been and out to the ER. I was at the ER last December, 2017. I lost my car in an accident. It was a really bad snowy night. I had no choice but to go to work. I found myself skidding to the other lane. Bam! I hit the railing. If not with the rail? I was off the bridge and might not be here anymore. I am one lucky dudette, I guess. I was sent to the ER with no fracture, no bruises nor scratch. After that accident, I don't want to drive in the snow again. I would take a walk if I have to. ??

Wow that must be very traumatizing. What part of United States are you in? Here in New York we have trains so I'm not sure if we're you live you have another way to get to work so that you don't have to drive during winter.

@Deajae72 what option do you have to get to work on a snowy day? Maybe a taxi? Or maybe take the bus.

@Ladanger I don't have any other options. Hopefully, I get this new job that I have applied for. It is 3 minutes away from my house. I can just walk. That would be awesome. =)

Indeed. I was scared to drive for a month. That's why I transferred job location. I drove for an hour to work, after the accident, I transferred to the closest location, 35 minutes, and it was still too long of a drive for me. I don't think I would drive that far ever again...

@marlina I know, right? When they took you in, they asked you questions then someone would come in again and would ask the same questions. Do they know how to read?

@Deajae72 I understand. I am a nurse, but I don't work. People need you. But you have to be careful. You were lucky.

@dya80dya I wanted to be a nurse. I took some classes while working as a nurse aide. I fell in love with my patient, so I did not pursue. I love my time with them. And thank you very much. =)

I know, right? Unfortunately, we have to keep moving because there are people that rely on us. I am a nurse aide and have to be there for my patients. I know, it is hard, but this is my path.

I don't blame you for not wanting to drive in the snow, it takes a lot of experience to manage it and if there is ice, no one does well.

I loved snow and still do, only when I am inside or not working. But, if I have to go to work? I want to hibernate and just stay indoor for the rest of the season.

@Deajae72 How did you almost die? Yes, there is a lot of cold and lots of snow in the winter in the United States. I was born there and lived in a very cold place. We have winters here in Jerusalem and it is cold both inside and outside of buildings so have to provide heat to stay warm and sometimes we get snow but here at least I know most of the time that spring will come and summer shortly after it. That is my time of the year. It is summer now in Jerusalem.
