Good evening, all. Here is the good news that made me cross my fingers last week. My son applied for a teaching position in the school where I am employed at. Since Monday he did those requirements necessary for the job. The time that we left home last Monday afternoon, we went to get his residence certificate, barangay clearance, and other requirements, and I drove despite the hot temperature. This morning I asked him when will he have the interview with the 2 VPs. "I don't know, ma", he said so I did not ask any question. When he brought out the food vessels of the dogs outside at the veranda, his phone rang. Then he rushed coming back to the kitchen saying," Ma, interview is at 2PM. Can you fix the dogs' plates?" I said yes so off he went. 4pm he came home. Then he gleefully said," Ma, we are now co-workers!" I cannot contain my happiness I silently thanked God, and my parents for praying with me for my son's job. Now, I am deciding to have just 2 duty days. But the emotions of my sister is another discussion to be posted.

@ridingbet i think teaching is like a public service, too. you think about the greater community more than personal gains.

@hereandthere that is true. in fact, successful professionals are taught by their teachers, so teaching is indeed the noblest profession but also underrated like nursing vocation.

thank you, kabsat. before, i thought our family has 2 nurses, but now, i have come up with the idea that there are teachers now than the 2 nurses. my sister, 2nd brother and his oldest daughter, and i and my son, are teachers.

thank you, hija. the vice president told him (my son) that he does not look like 26 years old. there were some comparisons made by this VP about me and my son.

@ridingbet you are most welcome po. Your son was delighted when the VP made comparisons between you and your son. You will be working with your son. Reputation really works wonders if you are a good person.

yes that is true. my son really wants to teach but in his college years, his course is not for teaching. it was bachelor of arts, so he is taking masters units in teaching, and hopes to finish this semester.

@hereandthere his talent in literature i think. he has the skill to type fast while thinking, and he has the distinct talent to make poetry when instantly asked for one.

his girl friend applied first in the 2nd week of June. she also asked me a letter of recommendation to which i gave. when she was informed of anybody who graduated from philo, she said she knew someone (my son) so she told my son over lunch here that my son should apply. i did not force my son. in fact, there was a requirement for a letter of recommendation and i do not know anybody to give him one. i just thought maybe my name will be known by the admin as he is my son. philosophy--- he will teach philo in senior high and he is offered to be the adviser of the school organ, and also teach philo in college.
