There goes that idea

Today while I was out I purchased a KitKat chocolate bar. When I got home I put it in the cupboard to have it for a snack later. I just went to eat it and when I opened it, it looked like it just came out of the microwave. The chocolate was melted all over the wrapper and the wafers were limp. Maybe I should have put it in the fridge?

HAHHA! I had a chocolate bar in the car, I picked it up to come in the house and it was filled with liquid. I did freeze it.

Chocolate is not to be stored where the heat can destroy it.

i've put slightly melted chocolates in the freezer to chill it faster but forget about it. by the time i remember, of course it's frozen rock solid so i have to let it melt again to be able to eat it.

The fridge will keep it cold and solid but not freeze it. I just need to remember that.

Oh wow it did that just in the cupboard? As an aside, I put all my chocolate in the fridge as it keeps me from eating it too fast.

Normally the chocolate would keep in the cupboard, but this heat...

Or the freezer would have been good too. The cupboard on days like these are not good for chocolate candy bars.

@Starmaiden I bought a candy bar once when we were driving a good distance. It was very soft when I got around to eating it. I've even taken soft candy bars and stuck them in the freezer for a short time so I could eat them without them being gooey.

I'm realizing that now. I always thought of the cupboard as a "cool, dry place". Not so in this humidity.

We try not to buy chocolates when the weather is a bit warm.

Wow, it must be pretty hot in your place. I don't even think it would melt in here if I had the AC off. It might get a little soft that is all. I have some foil wrapped chocolates in a dish and they have not melted.

a lesson i have learned already over and over i might say. also not to buy chocolate candy online as by the time you get it, it has turned into chocolate soup.

Yeah, for some reason Kit Kats and Reeses peanut butter cups melt like no other. My sister put last Reeses peanut butter cups in freezer and you could tell they melted all smashed in and what not. Very sensitive treats I guess.

Well, if it is awfully hot like here, yes, I would have put it in the fridge for a few minutes.

The chiller would do. Don’t freeze it.

We normally keep it in the fridge and I like to take it out an hour before eating it. It is mostly hot and humid here - siva

It must be due to the hot and humid inside the cupboard.

It annoys me when this happens. Same case with ice creams. You have to take them to a refrigerator

Chocolates demand that they are frozen - No alternative but to give in to their whims (lol)

That's a good idea, dear friend. If you put these in the freezer in the fridge, freeze them, they'll taste great.

All you need to do is to dump it into the freezer and it is fine.

In hot weather, best to put candy bars in fridge.
