Tin Tin vs Asterix _ a Bookworm's viewpoint

The football fever is in full swing. Students were coming bleary eyed to the classes, glad the vacations have started. Conversations and messages are full of allusions to the game with different takes on what is happening. For comic lovers of my generation it is indeed a hard choice to see two of our favourite heroes Asterix and Tin Tin battling it out during the semis. This picture of Dogmatix and Snowy doing the rounds makes it a difficult choice.I did so love both the comic series when I was young and still do.

I preferred Asterix. I think the language of the Roman legionaries made the difference

In the original French version the dog of Astérix is called Idéfix (the one on the left), the one of Tin Tin is called Milou. I prefer the little Idéfix and I support France of course, I have lived there so many years and I have many French friends.

That's nice to know. Thanks for letting me know the original names. As I said people are flooding the media with their particular points of view and the comic lovers came up with this.

I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with once England's opponents become clear later this evening. I wouldn't much fancy playing Russia as our two governments are on VERY poor terms after the Novichek poisonings.

@responsiveme I don’t mind a baseball or American football game or two, but that’s it. I love to play tennis and golf, although I’m horrendous with the latter.

Not really. We used to exchange among our friends as we never had money to buy all the comics. I love the physical books more than online
