My dog has just too much food on his plate last night that I was planning to throw the rest away.
But later I walked and passed by a stray who's eating something out of a plastic. So I took his food and went to the cat.
Unfortunately, by the time I handed it over he turned and ran!
I tried to approach him but ran again

I guess the cat was afraid that you will beat him that's why he ran away.

Hello @sw8sincere yeah that could have been possible. I see this cat all the time and he's always the runner.

What I do to Luna is the same thing I did to Claudia when she was little. She was picky and sometimes it took a lot for her to eat. After some time, I took away her food. I now take away Luna´s dish if she hasn´t eaten it all, but that´s the same food she ill have on her next meal. If she has left a little bit, I add some.

Hello @marguicha at least you know your pet and they eat what you give them. This was a stray cat.

Hello @lady1993 yeah, I just left the food there, hoping he would come back. But he's not the only stray there.

Maybe just afraid, maybe the cat is not used to near with strangers. You can leave the food, for sure the cat will come back to get that food.

Hello @cttolledo Nope he was not near to every single person, not really friendly. He likes being independent since a kitten.

Hello @caopaopao well, it was a stray and I seen it being way too independent.

@Letranknight2015
So did you put it on a plate and go away and he can eat it later? Stray cats do run away.

I think it's their instinct that works.
