OVERweight?

My sister arrived home from her check-up with our cardiologist 5 minutes before my son came home. I asked her if she told the doctor about all the aches and pains that she was feeling. Yes, she said. Even her emotions of wanting to cry and insomnia, she told the doctor. The "wanting to cry" I told her, is anxiety and might lead to depression.
She also mentioned her weight loss. I told her maybe her reduced weight is good for her height but she said she is healthy "and not sick" if she is heavy. I told her to check her BMI (body mass index ). She is not interested so I searched on Google about the BMI. I found it and sent it to her on chat message.
Then I told her directly that her weight of 58kgs at 5 feet height is still considered overweight. She however still wants to have her 60 kgs weight back so she will be "healthy" again. I kept quiet. I do not want to have another misunderstanding with her because what she believes in, she will fight for it.
My weight of 56 kgs is normal for my height of 5 ft 3 inches.
Are you over- or under - weight for your height? Is your BMI normal?

well, if you have an active lifestyle, i think you will shed more of the fats as they can turn into muscles.

@amitkokiladitya but do you compensate your active lifestyle with eating much of carbohydrates that is why you are overweight?

@DesirousDreamer oh, that is therefore the real reason why you are overweight for your height.

oh yes, i think being overweight for a person with hypothyroidism is a manifestation of the imbalance of the production of the thyroid hormone. but good thing you do not have an extremely over weight gain, right?

@ridingbet I'm 260lbs. So Yes I am very very overweight. I have always been overweight since I was 4 years old when my thyroid started malfunctioning but I wasn't diagnosed until I was 17.

I'm within my normal weight and I have no chance of gaining more weight at all no matter how much I eat.
I'm happy with it. I"m 53kg. At 5 feet 4.

@toniganzon well, maybe you are accustomed to weighing just 53 kgs. but i still remember your discussions as cycling/biking with your friends, and swimming as well. i believe you have the muscles and fats in proportion to your body.
you look fit

good to know. for me, my weight of 56 kgs is the highest weight i have gained. but i lost weight too, reached 48 kgs when i was sick and confined 2 years ago. i slowly regained my appetite and i intend to keep my weight between 54-56.

really? how tall are you and how much do you weigh? as long as you have muscles stored in the right places, then maybe you are not overweight at all. my BMI is 22, which is just normal for me.
