I took over a hundred pictures today at the Botanical Gardens. It's an awesome place, and I'm so glad I went there to enjoy my day. The picture above is one of many of the Lego sculptures throughout the park. There was only one I missed of the many they had on display. So, how do I choose which one to put on this post? It wasn't easy as they're all great. I'm planning to make a YouTube video of the pictures so you can get a better idea of all the Gardens has to offer.
They also have concerts every Thursday night throughout the summer. I might go next week. I've been out in the sun long enough for today.
I did buy myself a birthday present - a one year membership to the Botanical Gardens, which gives me free admission to all the gardens in the US, Canada, and some in Mexico, so it's a great deal and it didn't cost very much, so it's worth it. I fully intend to take full advantage of the membership. They also have a fantastic lights display at Christmas, so I will definitely be going to that.
The best part of today, was that the Botanical Gardens has motorized scooters, and operate the same as the ones at Wal-Mart. With 47 acres of flowers, there's no way I would be able to walk that.
There was only one Lego sculpture I missed, though I looked. But I can go back. The exhibit will be here through August. I intend to find that spider.

Mine was yesterday when I took the day off from here to enjoy the Botanical Gardens and get myself a decent burn/tan being in the sun for a couple hours.

Happy, happy birthday! So great to know ypu had fun and good ideea with the membership, that's a nice gift

Thank you. Yes, those motorized scooters made the big difference in my day. It was a wise choice to go there for my birthday with all the other choices I had, all of them involving a lot of walking.

@just4him - I agree. I enjoy the computer, too, but I think it is important not to be on the computer too much. Getting outside is important, too.

I'm so happy you had such a wonderful birthday today. My sister-in-law, Trisha, took classes at the botanical gardens in NYC. She now designs landscaping at our condo in Florida and in her third house in upstate New York. My hubby and I have been visiting botanical gardens all over the world since our honeymoon, so we definitely have that in common, too.

Sounds like a fantastic day especially since they had scooters. I wouldn't have been able to walk through such a huge garden either.

I tried to make a slideshow this morning, but couldn't figure out how to do it. I think YouTube changed, as I made one before with my Washington Island trip, and it was there for me to see. So, instead, I'm going to make a couple collages of my favorite pics of the gardens.
